How we assess your application
When you submit your application form you will need to provide your birth certificate or passport and any relevant Home Office documentation.
If you are not a British citizen you will be required to confirm your immigration status within the UK and provide any Home Office documentation.
If you are offered a property you will be required to provide further information to confirm your eligibility to be housed. We may make a home visit to verify your circumstances. If your 'bid' for a property is successful you will be given 3 days to provide the relevant information.
We assess your application based on the answers you give to us and any other information we ask for or receive from landlords or other agencies.
Before making an offer we will check for any history of rent arrears (including court costs, sundry debts and housing benefit overpayments). If you think you may have any outstanding debts please contact us for further advice. Click How to Contact Us
When we have finished assessing your application we will write to tell you that your application is 'live'. We will also tell you how many points you have been given.
We may take legal action if you obtain accommodation as a result of giving false or misleading information (Housing Act 1985)
