How to apply

You cannot use this service if you have not completed an online pre-assessment form and applications form and been accepted onto the housing register.

The online application form is available at:Dudley Housing Register

If you need help to complete the form you can visit us at any Area Housing desk at local libraries or Dudley Council Plus where staff will be able to help you.

How we assess your application

When you submit your application form you will be asked to provide some supporting documents. For lists of evidence and our process please click here.

We assess your application based on the answers you give us and any other information we ask for or receive from landlords or other agencies.

The council uses a banding scheme that shows what priority you may be awarded. Your application will be assesed on your individual circumstances and you will be placed in one of seven bands.

Please see the Banding page for further information.

When we have finished assessing your application we will write to tell you that your application is 'live'. We will also tell you your band, the reason that you have been placed in the band and your band start date.

Before making an offer we will check for any history of rent arrears (including court costs, sundry debts and housing benefit overpayments). If you think you may have any outstanding debts please contact us for further advice. Click How to Contact Us
