Within Dudley borough you will find a range of different options that may help to meet your housing needs.

  • Mediation

Mediation can help resolve relationship breakdowns including family, neighbour, community and tenant/landlord disputes.

  • Registered Social Landlords

Also known as Housing Associations, they provide most of the new low-cost rented housing in the borough. You may be able to apply directly to their waiting list, or be nominated by the council if you are at the top of our list when we are asked for a nomination.

  • Private Rented Housing

Private landlords offer a wide range of accommodation in most parts of Dudley borough, and if you are on a low income you can find out whether you will be eligible for Housing Benefit before you commit yourself to taking a tenancy.

  • Homebuy/Shared Ownership

Homebuy helps first time buyers onto the housing ladder. You buy a share of a property and pay rent on the rest. You can increase the shares you own at a rate to suit you.

  • Sheltered Housing

This scheme provides home security measures and support so that you can be safe in your home if you have experienced domestic abuse or hate crime including homophobic and race related incidents.

  • Right to Buy

  • Adaptations and Improvements

If your home needs improving or adapting so that it will meet your needs you may be able to claim financial help or have the work done for you.
